Roma!

Our flight from Amsterdam to Rome was only delayed a few hours, which made for a rather boring wait in the terminal while we waited for the plane to arrive. Compared to our last one it was a short little hop about 3 hours, but of course we slept through much of it. We got at least a good hour or two of sometimes-interrupted plane sleeping in on this one.

After arriving in Rome we donned our backpacks, instantly remembered that a heavy backpack is even heavier with no sleep, and quickly found the train station at the

Honeymoon 2.0 — international unrated edition

Monday morning, bright and early:

Brandi — Brian?

Brian — Yes

Brandi — Let’s go to Rome today.

Brian — Only if we can stop in Amsterdam on the way…

Brandi — Works for me!

It has all come to this very moment… The moment where you look back and ask yourself, did I leave the stove on; do I have everything; what if I get held up and miss my connecting flight.

Fortunately all that is now behind us. We checked in at Calgary a few hours a head of our flight so we were not rushed and had time to

5 days, the countdown is on!

In five days, we board our plane to Amsterdam, then Rome. One week from right now, we will be asleep on our first night of our cruise, somewhere along the NW coast of Italy.

Recently the cruise-line emailed to notify us that our second port of call had changed. Originally we were going to the small Northern Italy port of Portofino on the second day of our cruise, but apparently the Italian government has changed some cruise ship rules around anchoring in certain areas (Insert Costa Concordia joke here). This made enough changes to how and where the cruise could

15 Days remain

With only 15 days remaining before our vacation (International edition) we are getting very excited for our trip!

The sense of excitement and pure panic are colliding and resulting in a flurry of “how much work can I get done”, “how much stuff do we need to buy”, “what’s going on with these cats for a month”, “OMG, we don’t have a cat sitter any more!” and so on.

We will be gone for most of the month of May as we fly from Calgary to Rome, hop aboard a cruise for 10 days and then hack around France and

Sitting in the frankfurt airport waiting for our plane. Fortunately the flight only takes 2 hours and 5 minutes. 1:45–3:50. Those couple of hours will seem like 10 hours to us.

Sadly we must leave this wonderous land of foreign languages, strange food combinations and efficient train systems.

We will return to this fun adventure. That we have already promised ourselves.
